Blue Light Blocking Glasses and Tired Eyes
Tired Eyes
There are numerous factors that can make the eyes feel tired and strained when spending prolonged time in front of a screen.
The human eye is not really made for focusing at one distance all day. Looking at a fixed distance may cause some of the muscles in the eye to become tired.
This can cause eye strain and headaches.
Having a window directly behind your screen or behind you, can create unwanted glare to the eyes.
Ideally, you and the screen should be parallel to the window.

Blinking
The tears in our eyes keep the eyes moisturised. Every time we blink, the old tears are washed away, and a new layer of tears are formed.
When we stare/focus on something for too long, we don't blink fully, this means, that some area of the surface eye does not receive the moisture of new tears. Little dry patches can form. This can create dry eyes. Blinking fully on purpose, and more often can help moisture the surface of the eye.
Try avoiding rubbing your eyes. Splash some cold water to help.

20:20:20 Rule
Every 20 minutes, look 20 feet away for around 20 seconds. This gives the eye muscles a break from looking at one distance regularly and gives the muscles a chance to have a stretch.
Digital Blue lenses
A blue light lens reduces the amount of blue light entering the back of the eye from the screen. This helps protect the retina as well as the lens inside the eye.
Excessive screen use can also disturb sleep patterns.
Using the 20:20:20 rule with the digital blue light blocking lenses can help ease tired eyes and headaches.
Our blue lenses have an inbuilt filter which reduces the amount of blue filter reflection as well as giving up to a 95% reduction in the blue light.
All our glasses can be made with Digital Blue lenses. If you would like further help, do reach out to info@madaboutspecs.co.uk or chat with us on our live chats.
