Mad About Specs began with a simple mission; to enable our customers to see clearly, and with confidence. It’s an approach that’s about much more than selling glasses – it’s about providing every person on the planet with the belief to be themselves. It’s why for every pair of glasses you buy, we give a pound to fight the causes and effects of abuse in children and young people.

We work with charities and foundations to deliver the tools needed to enable children and adults to see the signs and symptoms of abuse, empowering them to take a stand. Whether emotional, physical or sexual, the long-term nature of abuse means children often fail to perceive or prevent the issue at the time, which means that it can affect them as adults too.

Far deeper than any business goal, our devotion to this cause is driven by the experience of our co-founder, Ravi. As an experienced optometrist carrying out routine eye examinations, she heard first-hand the impact that abuse had on young patients. Dealing with this issue is about helping people see clearly behind closed doors.
